Poran Poregbal: Clinical Supervisor and Advisor, MA in Counselling Psychology, BA in Social Sciences, RCC, RSW.
As a Clinical Counsellor, public speaker, writer, and educator, Poran has over 24 years of professional experience in the field of Social Work, Clinical Counselling, Anthropology, Ethnic Science, Vocational Rehabilitation, Victim Support, Conflict Resolution, Mediation, and Clinical Supervision.
Upon graduating from Adler’s School of Professional Counseling, Poran founded GV Counselling and Education Society to follow her longtime passion for providing Farsi Speaking communities’ quality mental health care services. Poran served her community and G.V. Counselling as an Executive Director between July 1, 2009- May 1, 2018.
Poran specializes in PTSD related symptoms, trauma, sexual abuse, child abuse, domestic violence, anxiety, stress, grief, loss, parenting.
She is two times Award Recipient from B.C. Association Clinical Counsellors (2011 and 2014), and, Award Recipient from West Vancouver Community Awards for Health, Wellness and Activity (2014)
Since 2016, Poran works parttime as a Group Therapist in the Outpatient Psychiatry at Vancouver General Hospital and she continues working with B.C. Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse.
